Concentration Jacquard woven cotton

Concentration: advanced study in a specific field or study. My work centers around transparency. The works I have been creating are unified around the theme of being lost in thought. Specifically thought fueled by anxiety or depression. I have been using transparent materials to highlight the need for more transparency and understanding in the mental health field.

This jacquard woven is opaque so I wanted to create the transparency in a different way. To do so I wove a scan of my other piece 15,000. Not only does this represent transparency, but also by weaving an image of 15,000 I was highlighting my obsession with that piece by expressing it in yet another way.
