OBSESSION

Obsession Dobby woven monofilament

This piece continues the theme of obsessive processes. I picked the waffle weave to create a greater depth to the work. Making this piece out of monofilament generated a movement and fragility to the piece that could not be achieved in the same way with regular yarn. The typical waffle weave is very structured and geometric in contrast this piece has an inherent structure but is loose and movable. This is representative of the difficulty of achieving perfection when in an obsessive state.
